About Wes Galyean

Wes Galyean has risen to the top of the NCHA cutting elite, earning over 6 million dollars in NCHA events. Horse training is literally in Wes’s blood. He comes from a family of champion horse trainers. Along with Wes, his father, Jody, and brother, Beau, are all in the NCHA Hall of Fame, and his grandfather, Kenneth Galyean is an AQHA Hall of Fame trainer. In 2004, Wes was the youngest rider to ever win NCHA’s highest title, the NCHA Futurity Open Championship with Spots Hot, a stallion his family bred and Wes trained himself. At that time, Wes was still competing in the Non-Pro division, which added to the already impressive victory. In 2010, he came close to winning the title again with a daughter of Spots Hot, Some Like It Hott. The pair ended up with the 2010 NCHA Futurity Open Reserve Champions. Then in 2013, Wes rode another one of Spots Hot’s offspring, this time a son named Hes A Hot Cat, to win the NCHA Super Stakes Open Championship. Wes has won numerous other aged event titles, but he says that winning the NCHA Triple Crown events hold a special place for him. Wes trains at his ranch in Claremore, Oklahoma.
