About Matt Palmer
Matt Palmer has been competing in horse competitions since his infancy under the tutelage of his mother, Joan Palmer. He showed in Lead Line classes before he turned two, and his first time to show at the All American Quarter Horse Congress was at the age of four. He began competing in reining horse classes by the time he was nine. All of this helped prepare Matt as a horseman, but also for the pressures of competing at the elite levels of reining horse competition that were to come. As a professional trainer, Matt focuses on preparing futurity and derby reining horses. He is a two-time USEF Gold medalist and was the youngest member of the USEF team. He qualified for the 2010 WEG with Whale Of A Whiz. He is a three-time NRHA World Champion, and he is a four-time Quarter Horse Congress champion. Matt also coaches Non-Pro and youth riders and has helped them earn AQHA and NRHA titles, as well as helping eight of his students earn college riding scholarships.
