About Jake Gorrell

Jake Gorrell earned two of NRCHA’s highest honors in 2017, winning the 2017 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Championship with Plain Catty and joining the elite Million Dollar Rider group by earning over $1 million in NRCHA competition. Jake’s father, Jerry, was a horse trainer, and Jake competed as a youth. He was also taught the value of an education and earned his business degree from Albertson College. However, he quickly realized his passion was horses and began working for Jon Roeser. Jake has now been training reined cow horses for over 20 years and has earned many of the sport’s top awards. Along with the Snaffle Bit championship, Jake has also won the NRCHA Stallion Stakes Open Bridle Spectacular championship with Smooth N Cash, and the AQHA Junior Working Cow Horse World Championship with Paid By A Starlet. Jake also was the 2005 NRCHA Derby Open and Intermediate Open Champion riding Quick As Einstein. He also won the 2003 NRCHA Open Bridle National Championship riding Quite The Reflection.
