Erin Kanara
Originally hailing from Hingham, Massachusetts, Erin Kanara has led a life as an equestrian from a young age. She spent her adolescent years immersed in Pony Club and local Combined Training Associations learning the ropes of the sport. During her teenage years, she was very involved with competing in Area 1, and first competed at the Intermediate level at the age of 17. She knew that she had her sights set on a lifelong career of competing and training, which brought her to Chester County, Pennsylvania for further education and experience. In 2003, Erin moved to the Mid-Atlantic region to attend the University of Delaware and to train with Phillip Dutton at True Prospect Farm. In 2005, Erin was invited to the attend her first USEF Developing Riders training session in Aiken, South Carolina with her horse Landsear, whom she campaigned at the Two-Star level and took her to her first Advanced competition at Plantation Field International in 2007. During this time, Erin also gained experience working with racehorses for Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Shepphard. As a result, Erin has developed strong skills in starting young horses and retraining off-the-track Thoroughbreds. Erin now actively campaigns her string of upper level horses and has competed across the country and around the world with top finishes at competitions including Fair Hill International CCI3* (Maryland), Bromont CCI3* (Canada), The Rolex Kentucky CCI4* (Kentucky), The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials CCI4* (England) and Pau International CCI4* (France).
