About Colt Moore

Colt Moore has made a name for himself as a top trainer and competitor in the cutting horse world, rising through the ranks.  He is a third-generation cutter and his family has been instrumental in his development as a trainer. In March 2020, riding Highbrow Nadine, a mare by High Brow CD, Moore clinched the NCHA Eastern Nationals Senior Youth Championship with a score of 220 points. This victory added to his previous accomplishments, including winning the 2019 NCHA Eastern Nationals Senior Youth Championship aboard Catscratch Sister and securing the reserve championship at the 2019 NCHA Summer Spectacular Senior Youth Scholarship Cutting. Colt’s consistent success in youth competitions earned him an induction into the NCHA Youth Hall of Fame.   Colt made the transition to open competition, working under notable trainers Adan Banuelos and Russ Westfall. In 2022, Colt achieved remarkable success at the NCHA Futurity, securing both the Intermediate Open and Limited Open championships aboard Playful Smoothtalker. He scored a 224 in the Intermediate Open finals and a 226 in the Limited Open finals.  He continues to be a frequent Open Finalist and became an NCHA Million Dollar Rider in 2025. Beyond competing, Colt has actively served the NCHA, participating in various committees and expressing a commitment to the association's growth and the sport's future.
